A Level of Disrespect

Since Oprah is so well known, I will presume that the world has heard her antagonistic remarks about the people of America and their attitude toward our teflon president. She recalled the outburst of Joe Wilson who broke decorum when he said, “you lie”;  however Oprah reported the words as, “you’re a liar”. There is a slight difference. In my opinion, the disrespect came from the president when he DID lie to the people. And he has lied repeatedly; about “Fast and Furious” about “Benghazi” about the IRS scandal, about Obamacare and on and on ad nauseum. Therefore, it is the president who disrespects the office with lack of integrity and a disdain for the people of America. The aforementioned lies would not have been tolerated by the press if those things were committed by any other president. This president capitalizes on the fact that he is black (well, half black) and bets that he will not be challenged because of his skin color. Anyone who disagrees with his policies is openly called a racist. I posit that most of the media will not challenge him because of their fear of being called a racist. The only reason to fear that kind of name calling is if you really are a racist and you don’t want it to be discovered.

Early in his first term, the president spoke about being bi-racial and said that he preferred to be known by his black heritage; in doing so, he disowns his white heritage. His actions while in office have demonstrated a bias against not only his white heritage, but white people as a whole. His malfeasance of office would have resulted in impeachment for any other president.

As for Ms. Winfree, she has proven to be a racist of the first degree. America has applauded her many accomplishments and has supported her efforts with vigor. But, now, America has “a level of disrespect”? Well, you get what you give. Perhaps she is upset about her latest attempt to vilify Americans in her film, “The Butler”. Did you really think that we are so stupid as to believe the poetic license that was taken with the facts; or that we would patronize a film that includes a traitor as part of the cast? You will have to peddle that pile of poop somewhere else, as, it appears, you are doing.

Generally speaking, Americans are not stupid. Younger Americans are idealistic but as they grow, they will see the truth. The truth is that we do not judge a person by the color of his skin; the election of 2008 proved that.  But he will be judged by the color of his politics. Lies, secrecy and intimidation are not the changes we expected. Unfortunately, this president has made it virtually impossible for Americans to trust another person of color in the most respected office in the world.
